Ironically, my most popular recipes are all cocktails. Apparently I’m not the only one who loves a good mixed drink.
Generally I try to stick with red wine or vodka sodas for low sugar options, but when I’m in the mood for a mixed drink, fruit is a great replacement for sugary store-bought mixers.
My most viewed recipe is the watermelon vodka slush cocktail made with fresh watermelon, but I also use mango, coconut milk and lime juice for the mango coconut margarita and boiled cranberries for the cranberry mulled wine cider. Fruit is a fantastic drink mixer because it’s naturally sweet and doesn’t contain any artificial ingredients or corn syrup.
I also love to make boozy snow cones and dirty shirleys, so I needed to find out how to make my own grenadine syrup, which only requires two ingredients: pomegranate juice and agave nectar! Just make sure you buy 100% fresh pomegranate juice that doesn’t contain any added sugar.
