I’m sure I’m not alone when I say that one of my new year’s resolutions is to maintain a healthy diet in 2017. That’s not to say I haven’t maintained a healthy diet in the past, but with all the holiday parties (AKA holiday FOOD) from the past two months, I’m going to be starting fresh in the new year, beginning with the most important meal of the day – breakfast!

As someone who is not particularly hungry in the morning, I like to start off with a light breakfast such as a smoothie or a bowl of oatmeal, yogurt or fresh fruit. Fruit is the one of the easiest foods to digest, so it’s a great way to start your day.

This tropical smoothie is one of my favorites, and only requires 3 ingredients: sliced mango, sliced papaya, and Trop50 juice beverage. For those of you looking to cut down on your sugar, Trop50 offers the great taste of orange juice with only half the sugar and calories. (Something I could definitely use in the new year!) In addition, one cup of Trop50 has 100% of your daily vitamin C, is a great source of potassium, and contains no artificial sweeteners!

With the sweet flavor of mango, the health benefits of papaya (great for digestion!), and the vitamins of Trop50 (and low sugar!), this smoothie will have you feeling healthy and tropical, even if it’s only the beginning of January!

Tropical Smoothie

Ingredients
  • 1 cup sliced mango
  • 1 cup sliced papaya
  • ½ cup Trop50 juice beverage
  • 4-5 ice cubes
Instructions
  1. Add mango slices, papaya slices, and Trop50 juice to a blender and blend until smooth.
  2. Add ice and blend again until desired frozen consistency is reached.
  3. Serve immediately.
